I began my 200hr yoga teacher training in January of this year. You might be asking yourself, why do you have a yoga page if your not a teacher quite yet? Well the short answer is I’m gauging interest in seeing if people would be interested in the idea of a yoga place that offers nutrition help with their yoga practice as well as child care.
I personally had to put my yoga practice on hold after having my children due to the fact that I did not want to nor did I have the money to spend on gyms, and child care at said gyms. Needless to say I sorely missed yoga once I got back into it and thought about the other moms and dads who are looking for a way to get healthy again as well as providing a safe environment for both them and their children to do so.
Why nutrition? Well, when I was an adamant yogi before family, and now that I’ve become active again, I came to realize that while I felt better I wasn’t getting to my 100% of where I wanted to be. Just like when you go to a gym to workout, go for a run, or any other physical activity, one of the things you start to incorporate into said activity is changing your nutrition. In yoga, I’ve never really experienced a class in which nutrition was just as important as yoga itself. I believe this is because the perception is that if you do yoga it is automatically assumed you are eating nutrisiously. I will be the first to say that I blew that statistic out of the water when I was really into yoga. I’ve recently begun my own nutrition journey that I’m tailoring for myself while doing yoga. All I can say is that it has made a world of difference incorporating these new habits into my yoga practice. Thus why I truly believe having great nutrition that aligns with your practice is the ultimate key to your better health.
In the end I’m looking to create a community of individuals and families that are finding their healthy lifestyle in a safe and comfortable environment. This is about finding what works best and about helping others. Because when you give love, you get love!
Until next time…may you find peace and love!
